Swift Currie Continues Growth With Seven Attorneys Joining in Atlanta

Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers, LLP, announces the addition of seven attorneys in its Atlanta office, including Lucy Aquino, Terrika Crutchfield, Alexis Herring, Adam Simonton, Luke Tobis, Spenser West and Danielle Wilson. With these seven attorneys, the firm has announced the addition of 28 new attorneys in 2021, which are all available here.

Lucy Aquino joins the firm’s litigation team representing clients in an array of matters, including premises liability, construction litigation, automobile and trucking litigation and insurance coverage. In addition to her legal background, Aquino brings prior experience working as a bodily injury claims adjuster with a large national insurance company. She is currently a board member for the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers Communications Committee and is active with the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida and her law degree from Georgia State University College of Law.

Terrika Crutchfield joins the firm’s coverage and commercial litigation section where she represents corporations and insurers. Previously, she held roles as a plaintiffs’ attorney handling mass tort claims and a claims adjuster for a warranty administration company, giving her diverse experience that she applies to her practice as defense counsel. While in law school, Crutchfield served as an in-house legal intern for Delta Air Lines and a judicial extern for Chief Judge Dillard in the Court of Appeals of Georgia. She earned her undergraduate degree from Oglethorpe University and her law degree from the Mercer University School of Law.

Alexis Herring joins the firm’s workers’ compensation practice and defends employers and insurers in workers’ compensation disputes throughout Georgia. Prior to joining Swift Currie, Alexis practiced at an Atlanta law firm, protecting intellectual property for individuals in the entertainment industry and minority business owners. Additionally, she held a judicial clerkship with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She is active with several professional organizations, including the Georgia Association for Black Women Attorneys and the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers. Herring earned her undergraduate degree from James Madison University and her law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law.

Adam Simonton joins the firm’s litigation section and focuses his practice primarily on the representation and defense of architects, engineers and general contractors in construction disputes. His practice also includes defending clients in automobile, trucking and other commercial litigation and liability disputes. Simonton joins from another metro Atlanta litigation firm, and previously coordinated acquisition strategy between client partners, legal and finance while interning at WarnerMedia. He also served as a mediator in Fulton and DeKalb county magistrate courts, where he drafted and settled over 150 disputes. He earned his undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University and his law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law.

Luke Tobis joins the firm’s coverage and commercial litigation section, representing businesses and insurance carriers in a range of commercial disputes. He previously served as an extern for Deputy Chief Judge John J. Goger in the Superior Court of Fulton County, Chief Justice Charles T. Canady in the Florida Supreme Court, University of Florida Self-Insurance Program and UF Health Senior Medical-Legal Partnership. Additionally, he interned for the Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Clinic at the UF Virgil Hawkins Civil Clinic. Prior to beginning his legal career, Tobis worked as a health educator with the University of New Mexico’s Turman Health Services and an HIV educator and prevention specialist with AmeriCorps. He earned his undergraduate degree from the George Washington University, his master’s degree in biomedical sciences and pharmacology from the Tulane University School of Medicine and his law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.

Spenser West joins the firm’s workers’ compensation practice and defends insurers and employers in claims throughout Georgia. He is experienced in representing school districts, construction companies, retailers and large-scale construction projects. West previously practiced civil litigation defense, primarily working on complex civil litigation, class action lawsuits, government investigations and internal investigations. He began his legal career working with firms in Southern California and, since relocating to Georgia, he has practiced with one of the world’s largest law firms and another insurance defense firm in Atlanta. He earned his undergraduate degree from Purdue University and his law degree from Vermont Law School.

Danielle Wilson joins the firm’s litigation section where she focuses on the defense of individuals and businesses in matters involving automobile litigation and catastrophic injury, as well as premises, products and professional liability. The entirety of her practice has been devoted to civil litigation. Wilson served as a judicial intern for Judge Eric K. Dunaway with the Superior Court of Fulton County prior to beginning her career in insurance defense. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and her law degree with honors from the Mercer University School of Law.
