Swift Currie Adds 15 Attorneys in Atlanta to End 2020 and Begin 2021
Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers, LLP, announces the addition of 15 new attorneys in the firm’s Atlanta office during the final months of 2020 and into January 2021. The additions include attorneys Justin Averett, Rebecca Beane, Lauren Byrne, Danielle Doctor, Ames Filippini, Graham Foster, Scotty Hoffman, Jessica Hubbartt, Ben McClure, Kyle McDonald, Marissa Merrill, Tara Schlairet, Brandon Rosenstein, Logan Stone and Ben Yancey.
Beane, McClure and Schlairet have rejoined the firm, and Foster, Merrill and Rosenstein previously served as summer associates at Swift Currie.

Justin Averett joins the firm’s litigation section defending clients in civil matters related to premises, products and auto liability litigation in state and federal courts. Before transitioning to private practice, Justin was an assistant solicitor for the City of Atlanta. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia, his law degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s William H. Bowen School of Law and an LL.M. degree from the University of Alabama School of Law.
Rebecca Beane rejoins the firm, practicing in the areas of products liability, construction law, commercial litigation and general liability defense. Beane is licensed to practice law in Georgia and Florida and returns with valuable experience representing insurers in complex coverage disputes while at an international litigation firm. Prior to joining Swift Currie, Beane practiced in the construction group of the largest law firm in Florida. She earned her undergraduate degree from the Georgia State University and her law degree from the Ave Marie School of Law.
Lauren Byrne joins the firm’s coverage and commercial litigation section, where she represents clients in matters related to automobile, bad faith and trucking litigation, as well as insurance coverage and premises liability. Byrne previously served as national litigation counsel for a leading contractor and clerked for a national insurance provider’s claims litigation counsel. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and her law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law.
Danielle Doctor joins the firm’s coverage and commercial litigation section where she counsels clients in cases related to arson and fraud, bad faith litigation and insurance coverage. Prior to beginning her legal career, she worked in the insurance industry and held both a Life, Accident and Sickness license and a Property and Casualty license. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and her law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law.
Ames Filippini joins the firm’s coverage and commercial litigation section, defending clients in commercial litigation, catastrophic injury and wrongful death claims, insurance coverage, premises liability and products liability. She earned her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Alabama.
Graham Foster joins the firm’s workers’ compensation section providing defense representation to employers and insurers. Foster previously launched a legal non-profit program in Macon, Georgia, for which he received an Equal Access to Justice Grant. He earned his undergraduate degree from Texas State University and his law degree from the Mercer University School of Law.
Scotty Hoffman practices in the firm’s workers’ compensation section. He earned his undergraduate degree from Georgia State University and law degree from Georgia State University College of Law.
Jessica Hubbartt joins with more than 10 years of litigation experience with a focus on defending insurers, motor carriers and their drivers in matters related to trucking and transportation litigation. She has experience representing clients in matters related to wrongful death, premises liability, professional negligence and commercial litigation. She previously served as an intern with the U.S. Army JAG Corps at Fort McPherson in Georgia. She earned her undergraduate degree from Wesleyan College, a master’s degree in public administration from UMUC Europe in Germany and her law degree from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School.
Ben McClure rejoins the firm in the workers’ compensation practice, representing insurance companies, self-insured companies and servicing agents. He earned his undergraduate degree from Kennesaw State University and his law degree from the Emory University School of Law.
Kyle McDonald represents clients in claims related to automobile litigation, premises liability and trucking and transportation litigation. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law.
Marissa Merrill defends national insurance carriers and business entities in claims related to automobile litigation, catastrophic injury and wrongful death, medical malpractice and premises liability. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and her law degree from the Mercer University School of Law.
Tara Schlairet rejoins the firm’s workers’ compensation section, counseling employers and insurers through sensitive issues, claims and employment-related matters. Previously, Schlairet represented employers, insurance companies and servicing agents in all aspects of Florida workers’ compensation claims. She earned her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and her law degree from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School.
Brandon Rosenstein practices in the firm’s workers’ compensation section. He earned his undergraduate degree from Georgia State University and his law degree from Mercer University School of Law.
Logan Stone represents insurers and trucking and transportation companies in trucking litigation matters. He earned his undergraduate degree from Berry College and his law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law.
Ben Yancey represents insurers, businesses and individuals in matters related to automobile litigation, construction law, premises liability, products liability and trucking litigation. He earned undergraduate degrees from the University of Georgia and his law degree from the Georgia State College of Law.
