Ames Filippini defends national insurers against claims related to commercial litigation, catastrophic injury and wrongful death, insurance coverage, premises liability and products liability.
Ames developed her legal career as a law clerk contributing to the representation of corporate clients in civil defense cases and as a clinical student attorney representing plaintiffs in litigation actions. Ames’ experience representing clients on both side of litigation has equipped her with an expansive perspective of the law and varying techniques to provide the most effective defense for a client. She has helped resolve matters involving wrongful death, serious bodily injury and abuse with the highest degree of care and sensitivity, while maintaining focus on the merits of the case.
Additionally, Ames served as an intern at the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals and as a law clerk at the 10th Judicial Circuit of Alabama, where she gained an inside view of the appellate process and a judge’s method for deciding important procedural and substantive matters.
While earning her J.D. at the University of Alabama School of Law, Ames oversaw the legal publishing process as the managing editor of the Alabama Law Review and argued before federal judges during American Bar Association Moot Court competitions.
