Swift Currie Promotes Six Attorneys in 2023 Partnership Class
Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers, LLP, is pleased to announce the elevation of six attorneys as new partners in the Atlanta office, effective Jan. 1, 2023. The firm’s 2023 class of partners includes Kelly Chartash, Gillian Crowl-Parrish, Alex McDonald, Lauren Meadows, Alexander Mikhalevsky and Kori Wagner.

Kelly Chartash represents clients in matters related to insurance coverage and commercial litigation. She focuses her practice on third-party insurance coverage disputes, automobile litigation and premises liability, having successfully defended clients in dispositive motions and in jury trials. Prior to joining Swift Currie and while in law school, Chartash represented clients as a certified legal intern at the Virgil D. Hawkins Full Representation Civil Clinic. She has been recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch since 2021. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and her law degree from the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law.
Gillian Crowl-Parrish practices in the areas of commercial litigation, trucking litigation, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, insurance coverage, premises liability and bad faith litigation. She represents individuals, small businesses, corporations, insurance companies and motor carriers. Crowl-Parrish is highly active within the legal community. She currently serves as the chair of the Nominating Committee of the National Bar Association Women Lawyers Division, the Speakers Chair for the Leadership Institute for Women of Color Attorneys and the Parliamentarian of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys. She is also a member of the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, the Defense Research Institute (DRI) and the North Carolina State Bar Association. Crowl-Parrish has been recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in 2023, National Black Lawyers Top 100 in 2020 and 2021 and the Daily Report’s Georgia Legal Awards “On the Rise” in 2021. She earned her undergraduate and Master of Public Administration degrees from Cornell University and her law degree from the Indiana University School of Law.
Alex McDonald has practiced exclusively in the area of civil litigation for his whole career with an emphasis on the defense of individuals, businesses and insurance carriers in personal injury, automobile accident, product liability, construction, premises liability and insurance coverage litigation. He also advises clients on pre-suit demands, claims management, internal investigations and bad faith exposure. Alex has served as lead counsel in numerous civil jury trials across Georgia and dozens of bench trials, and he has handled multiple appellate matters. He has been recognized as a Rising Star in Georgia Super Lawyers in 2021 and Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch since 2021. Alex earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law.
Lauren Meadows practices in Swift Currie’s commercial litigation and insurance coverage group and represents insurance companies and their insureds in personal injury, construction and premises liability litigation in both state and federal courts. Meadows has been recognized as a Rising Star in Georgia Super Lawyers each year since 2017 and Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch since 2021. She earned her undergraduate degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and her law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law.
Alexander Mikhalevsky represents some of the largest property and casualty insurers in the United States in first-party coverage matters and bad faith litigation. He has significant experience handling claims related to suspected arson, fraudulent theft of property and vehicles, disputes over scope of loss and other coverage issues, both prior to and throughout litigation. Mikhalevsky’s work has included investigating and defending insurers in seven-figure personal and commercial claims involving total losses, deaths and significant injuries. Over the course of his career, he has handled more than 100 claims with multimillion dollar exposures and tried over 20 cases. While in law school, Mikhalevsky interned with the Supreme Court of Georgia, and he also tried dozens of misdemeanor criminal cases during an internship at the Gwinnett County Solicitor's Office. He was recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for 2022 and 2023. Mikhalevsky earned his undergraduate degree from Clemson University and his law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law.
Kori Wagner is a civil litigator whose practice is dedicated to representing individuals, corporations and insurers in a variety of matters, with a focus on pre-suit and litigated matters related to automobile litigation, premises liability, complex personal injury and insurance coverage issues involving application fraud and bad faith. Wagner won a defense verdict in her first jury trial and has continued to obtain favorable verdicts and court rulings for her individual and corporate clients in both state and federal courts throughout her career. She has been recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch since 2021. Originally from Indiana, Wagner earned her undergraduate degree from Ball State University. Thereafter, Wagner moved to Georgia to obtain a law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law and pursue her legal career.
