WEBINAR – Evening the Playing Field: Georgia’s Tort Reform

Webinar
05.07.2025 | 10 - 11 a.m. EST

Attorneys Bobby Potter, Pamela Lee and Marissa Merrill will host the webinar "Evening the Playing Field: Georgia’s Tort Reform" on May 7, 2025, from 10-11 a.m. Eastern.

In April 2025, Governor Brian Kemp signed Senate Bills 68 and 69 into law – legislation aimed at rebalancing the litigation landscape and addressing long-standing concerns from businesses, insurers and legal professionals alike. These bills introduce sweeping reforms impacting how personal injury and tort cases are litigated, from how damages are argued to how fault is determined. During this webinar, our attorneys will break down each section of the new laws, including updates to pain and suffering claims, discovery timelines, voluntary dismissals, attorney’s fee limitations, admissible evidence, negligent security liability and trial structure. The attorneys will also explore Georgia’s new litigation financing rules and discuss practical implications for handling cases under these reforms.

The webinar will offer one hour of continuing education credit for attendees registered with the Georgia Department of Insurance (pending approval).
