Swift Currie Signs 100,000-Square-Foot Lease at 1420 Peachtree in Midtown Atlanta as Firm Continues Growth

10.07.2021

Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers, LLP, announces its relocation to a 100,000-square-foot space at 1420 Peachtree to accommodate significant growth at the firm in recent years. The firm relocates from The Peachtree Tower at 1355 Peachtree St., where it has operated for more than 30 years.

Today, Swift Currie is the largest law firm in Georgia dedicated solely to litigation with more than 160 attorneys overall and 324 Atlanta-based employees. The new office will feature modern finishes, an updated floor plan and a focus on culture and collaboration, providing plenty of room for future growth.

“As clients’ demands have grown over the past decade, we have been fortunate to grow our teams in Atlanta and Birmingham to meet those demands. In Atlanta, we now need a larger footprint and more collaborative space; 1420 Peachtree was able to meet those needs. We also hope that it builds upon our ability to attract and retain top-caliber litigators,” said Terry Brantley, managing partner at Swift Currie. “We will continue to invest in our people, technology and space such that we can provide a safe, productive and efficient environment.”

“We were looking for a long-term real estate solution that supported our business, culture and the health and wellbeing of our growing team as we continue efforts to attract and retain top talent in one of the more competitive recruiting environments the legal industry has ever seen,” said Michael Rosetti, partner and member of Swift Currie’s executive committee. “Our partners at JLL, Tim McCarthy and Ryanne Pennington, were instrumental in understanding our priorities for the firm moving forward. Ultimately, 1420 Peachtree provides Swift Currie the undeniable competitive advantage and opportunity to serve our clients even better with an office environment that supports the workplace of the future.”

Location played a key role in the firm’s decision. 1420 Peachtree is a 160,000-square-foot, Class-A office building in one of the most accessible workplace locations in Midtown, just one block north of Swift Currie’s current location. The eight-story building is undergoing a major transformation to modernize building systems and common areas, enhance amenities and upgrade tenant spaces. The building features walk-out fourth floor balconies, as well as an amenity-rich, walkable environment that will continue to grow over the next 24 months with the delivery of Midtown Union.

Located at the prominent intersection of Peachtree and West Peachtree Streets, the building is two blocks north of MARTA’s Art Center Station and offers immediate access to I-75, I-85 and GA-400. 1420 Peachtree is connected to Pershing Point Park and is within walking distance of Piedmont Park and the Eastside BeltLine Trail. With an 84 Walk Score, the building is walkable to a variety of chef-driven dining, the Woodruff Arts Center, the High Museum of Art and MODA.

JLL Executive Managing Director Tim McCarthy and Executive Vice President Ryanne Pennington represented Swift Currie in the deal, with Transwestern’s Chip Roach and Stephen Clifton representing the building’s owner, Franklin Street Properties Corp.
