WEBINAR: A Doctor, Lawyer and a Judge Walk Into a Bar and Order a PMT: PMTs and Conference Calls
Attorneys Todd Boyce and Jonathan Wilson will host the webinar "A Doctor, Lawyer and a Judge Walk Into a Bar and Order a PMT: PMTs and Conference Calls" on December 6, 2022, from 1-2 p.m. Eastern.
The claimant's attorney requests quick authorization of medical treatment. Several days later, she files a Form WC-Petition for Medical Treatment. This will immediately start a chain of events, which can either result in the employer-insurer filing a form in response or potentially lead to a telephone conference with the Administrative Law Judge.
During this webinar, attorneys will discuss strategies and options for responding to a WC-PMT. The attorneys will address the origins of this form, information necessary to respond accordingly and the best practices for doing so. While covering these issues, they will also delve into ethical considerations when it comes to preparing for and responding to a WC-PMT, as well as participating in a “show cause” conference with the judge. Finally, the attorneys will touch on the option of the employer-insurer filing a WC-PMT(b).
The webinar will offer one general continuing education credit for attendees registered with the Georgia Department of Insurance.
