Swift Currie partners Martine Cumbermack, Trey Dowdey and Crystal McElrath are hosting the webinar, "COVID-19 Claims Under GA and AL Workers' Compensation Law and Other Employment Law Considerations," for claimsXchange on Nov. 5 from 1-2 p.m.

The rise in COVID-19 cases throughout the United States also brings a rise in employees filing for workers’ compensation, unemployment and other leave benefits. Cumbermack, Dowdey and McElrath will discuss the burdens of proof and defenses to COVID-19 claims in Georgia and Alabama. Additionally, they will talk about policies and legislative changes in other states and how those states have handled COVID-19 claims as those actions might be instructive to how Georgia and Alabama will react. Finally, the attorneys will discuss other employment law related implications under OSHA, FPUC and unemployment, as well as best practices for employers.

The claimsXchange was created to connect innovative and collaborative professionals who share a passion for advancing the claims industry. Through exclusive events, members will forge lasting connections while sharing unique and memorable experiences throughout the country.
