Partner Doug Brown and attorney Crystal McElrath will speak on at the Georgia Safety, Health and Environmental Conference in partnership with the Georgia State Council/Affiliate Chapter of the Society of Human Resource Managers (SHRM) on Sept. 5.

Brown will give a presentation on "Important Cost Containment Methods for Claims." McElrath's topic, "Safety Policies that Protect Employees and Employers," will cover the role of employee handbooks and safety policies in preventing work injuries and establishing affirmative defenses where an on-the-job injury is the result of willful safety violations.

The conference is a "dedicated to providing professionals, across a spectrum of disciplines, a quality, comprehensive and convenient way to develop and improve their technical, managerial, regulatory and administrative skills necessary for maintaining and sustaining a safe, health, environmentally sound and regulatory compliant workplace capable of attracting and maintaining a top rated workforce." It will be held at the Marriott Savannah Riverfront from Sept. 5-7.
