Casey “Case” L. Smartt is a dedicated litigator defending complex coverage disputes. He represents multinational and regional insurance companies and large businesses against matters related to fraud, bad faith, commercial litigation, insurance coverage and property claims, as well as premises and professional liability. Case regularly litigates high-dollar claims before state and federal courts throughout the country and represents clients in alternative dispute resolution.

Case handles all phases of civil litigation and advises insurers through policy coverage issues. Additionally, he has significant experience leading jury and bench trials involving multimillion-dollar claims.

Before entering private practice, Case served as in-house counsel for a global brewing company and one of the country’s largest insurance companies.

Case’s clients benefit from his in-depth knowledge of an array of relevant laws, including the Georgia Civil Practice Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). With a detail-oriented and creative mindset, Case analyzes the unique intricacies of each case with a goal to provide high-quality service that leads toward client-focused results.

In 2020, Case graduated from the State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division Leadership Academy, which is a program for young lawyers who are interested in developing their leadership skills, as well as learning more about their profession, communities and state. While attending the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, Case received the Irving P. Andrews Award for Outstanding Law Graduate.

Case mentors talented children from difficult backgrounds. Coming from Colorado, he enjoys hiking and snowboarding in the “great outdoors.” Case is a proud supporter of the Denver Broncos and an even prouder supporter of his five-year-old daughter.
