“In Ga., Promptness is Key to Setting Aside Default Judgements"

In an article published on Sept. 14, 2023, by Law360, Katy Robertson provided insight on the process for insurance carriers and counsel to set aside default judgments under Georgia law, including the process for plaintiffs to obtain a default judgement and, subsequently, for defendants petitioning to open or set aside the default. Robertson offered detail on the conditions for default judgments to be set aside under the law and why timeliness is important in these situations.
