Swift Currie's Rosetti Named a Fellow of the College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers
Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers LLP, is pleased to announce that Atlanta-based partner Michael Rosetti, a member of the firm’s executive committee, was recently elected to The College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers (CWCL) by the organization’s board of governors. The election, according to the organization, signifies recognition as “an outstanding professional who has made a sustained contribution” to the field and who meets the organization’s “standards of integrity, professionalism and character.” Rosetti represents insurers and self-insured companies in workers’ compensation-related matters throughout Georgia. Prior to Rosetti’s election, the CWCL had 25 fellows from Georgia, which includes Swift Currie partners Robert R. Potter and R. Briggs Peery.
“It is an honor to have my career recognized by a prestigious body such as The College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers,” Rosetti said. “I have a high regard for my peers from Georgia who have been elected fellows and, as a result, I am grateful to be a part of this group.”
To qualify, nominees must have developed what the CWCL deems “outstanding traits” in their respective practices over a period of 20 years or longer. Nominees may be on the plaintiffs’ side, the defense side, serving as judges, acting for the benefit of education or overseeing agencies and developing relevant legislation.
Rosetti has held several leadership positions in the local legal community. He serves on the board of directors of the Atlanta Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section and is a member of the Legal Steering Committee of the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation. He also is a frequent speaker on workers’ compensation law and related topics, including Medicare set-aside arrangements, workplace safety and ethics/professionalism. He is a past co-chair of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education in Georgia – Workers’ Compensation Law Institute.
Rosetti earned his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Albany and his law degree from St. John’s University School of Law.
