Swift Currie Adds Three Attorneys in Atlanta and Welcomes 2021 Class of Summer Associates
Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers, LLP, announces the addition of three new attorneys in its Atlanta office, including Gail Pursel as a senior attorney and Davis Kimball and Dana King as associates. In addition to these new arrivals, the office also welcomes its 2021 class of six summer associates.

Gail Pursel brings more than 25 years of experience representing clients in workers’ compensation matters. She counsels employers, insurance carriers, self-insureds and third-party administrators in all aspects of workers’ compensation claims and litigation. Pursel taught various legal subjects as an adjunct professor at the undergraduate level for over 10 years. Additionally, she is a Fellow in the Lawyers’ Foundation of Georgia, which recognizes those individuals whose public and private careers demonstrate outstanding legal abilities and devotion to their communities. She previously served on the board of directors for the Georgia Legal Services Program and volunteers with Kids’ Chance of Georgia, which provides educational scholarships to the children of Georgia workers who have been seriously or fatally injured. Pursel earned her law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law and undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia.
Davis Kimball practices in the firm’s workers’ compensation section, defending employers and insurers in workers’ compensation disputes throughout Georgia. Prior to joining Swift Currie, Kimball practiced with another mid-sized insurance defense firm for two years. During law school, he worked for a firm representing workers’ compensation claimants in his hometown of Covington, Georgia. He also interned for the Newton County District Attorney’s Office under the Third Year Practice Act. He earned his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law and undergraduate degree from Samford University.
Dana King practices in the areas of commercial litigation and insurance coverage and brings experience handling insurance litigation matters from start to finish, including initial analysis, discovery, depositions, motions and hearings. King began her career as an in-house clerk for Grady Health Systems. Since then, she has worked in private practice defending corporations, health care providers and insurance entities in civil matters. King is highly active in the community with an emphasis on mentorship, having volunteered for several Spelman College programs and Pursing the Esquire, an organization focused on creating a pipeline for attorneys of color aiming to enter the legal profession. King earned her law degree from the Wake Forest University School of Law and undergraduate degree from Spelman College. She also earned a master’s degree from Columbia University in 2019.
