Anandhi Rajan Elected to National Retail and Restaurant Defense Association’s Board of Directors

03.13.2019

Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers, LLP, is pleased to announce partner Anandhi S. Rajan was elected to the board of directors of the National Retail and Restaurant Defense Association (NRRDA), an industry-centered organization focused on the defense of retail and restaurant businesses. Her position is effective as of March 8, 2019, and she will serve as a board member from 2019 to 2022.

NRRDA seeks to reduce claims and better manage risk, mount effective defense and strategies against claims and litigation, and foster and encourage cooperative relationships by providing its members information, strategies and tools. Its mission is to advance and protect the interests of the retail and restaurant industry.

Rajan joins the board of directors after seven years of membership with NRRDA. Prior to her election, she became involved with the Sponsorship and Scholarship Committee in 2013 and chaired the committee from 2017 to 2019. She used her position to increase conference sponsorship support and raise the amount of scholarship recipients year after year, allowing more industry members to attend the annual conference. Additionally, Rajan has been a member of the Employment Practices Committee since 2015 and was also a speaker at NRRDA’s 2017 and 2018 annual conferences.

As a partner at Swift Currie, Rajan practices in a wide variety of areas, ranging from counseling and defending management in employment-related litigation, defending premises liability matters and other tort liability matters. She earned her law degree at Georgia State University College of Law and her undergraduate degree from Emory University.
