Martine Cumbermack Speaking at National Workers' Compensation and Disability Conference
Partner Martine Cumbermack will speak at the National Workers' Compensation and Disability Conference on Dec. 6. She is presenting on the topic of, "Diversity's Impact on Claims Handling, Claims Results and the Bottom Line."
Today’s workforce is more diverse than ever with older workers remaining on the job longer, and multilingual and other culturally diverse workers posing challenges and opportunities for claims payers. Diversity can impact why claims are filed, how claims are managed and possibly the end result. Meanwhile, diversity, inclusion and unconscious bias play roles before an injury, during claim management and can drive trial outcomes and resolution. To help mitigate these challenges, Cumbermack will provide strategies for effective communication with the worker, employer and claims handlers. She will also discuss why diversity and inclusion are important in the claims management business.
