Martine Cumbermack and Rusty Watts Speaking at ACA Educational Conference

Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia
04.14.2022

Swift Currie partners Martine Cumbermack and Rusty Watts will be speaking at the 2022 Atlanta Claims Association (ACA) Educational Conference. They will be speaking on diversity's impact on claims handling, claims results and the bottom line.

Today’s workforce is more diverse than ever with older workers remaining on the job longer, and multilingual and other culturally diverse workers posing challenges and opportunities for claims payers. Diversity can impact why claims are filed, how claims are managed and possibly the end result. Meanwhile, diversity, inclusion and unconscious bias play roles before an injury, during claim management and can drive trial outcomes and resolution. To help mitigate these challenges, this session’s speakers will provide strategies for how cultural competence can be effective in communications between the worker and employer, treating providers, and claims handlers.
