WEBINAR — Petitions, Prescriptions and Proof: Medical Treatment in Workers’ Compensation Claims

Webinar
01.15.2026 | 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm EST

Attorney Melissa Rickert and Sarah Snipes will host the webinar "Petitions, Prescriptions and Proof: Medical Treatment in Workers’ Compensation Claims" on January 15, 2026, from 1-2 p.m. Eastern.

When medical treatment has been accepted on a claim, issues often arise when the claimant wants a specific treatment authorized, but the employer and insurer do not think the treatment is reasonable, necessary or related to the work accident. Likewise, there are times when medical treatment has been authorized and scheduled but the claimant fails to comply for unknown or unreasonable excuses. The petition for medical treatment (PMT) set forth under Board Rule 205 is a tool which both sides of a claim can use to move medical treatment forward. In this webinar, the attorneys will provide a practical, step-by-step breakdown of how PMTs work under Georgia workers’ compensation law and how employers, insurers and claims professionals can effectively use and respond to these petitions.

The webinar is pending approval for one general hour of continuing education credit for attendees registered with the Georgia Department of Insurance.
