Swift Currie Partner Reappointed to State Bar Advisory Panel Opinion Board and Disciplinary Board Review Panel
Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers, LLP, is pleased to announce that Atlanta-based partner C. Bradford Marsh has been reappointed to the State Bar of Georgia Formal Advisory Opinion Board and the State Bar Disciplinary Board-Review Panel. Marsh was reappointed to both by State Bar President Brian D. “Buck” Rogers. As a member of the Formal Advisory Opinion Board, Marsh will help draft formal opinions that interpret the Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct and address ethical issues related to members of the State Bar of Georgia. In his role on the Disciplinary Board-Review Panel, Marsh will help to investigate and discipline members of the State Bar of Georgia for violations of the bar’s Standards of Conduct.
The Formal Advisory Opinion Board is authorized to draft Formal Advisory Opinions concerning a proper interpretation of the Rules of Professional Conduct or any of the grounds for disciplinary action as applied to a given state of facts, as set forth in Bar Rule 4-403.
The State Disciplinary Board-Review Panel is one of two panels that comprise the State Disciplinary Board, which has the power to investigate and discipline members of the State Bar of Georgia for violations of the Standards of Conduct set forth in Bar Rule 4-102.
Marsh was first appointed to the State Disciplinary Board-Review Panel in 2001 and served as chairman in 2004. In 2012, Marsh was appointed to the Formal Advisory Opinion Board for the first time and he served as its chairman in 2014.
Throughout his career, Marsh has successfully tried dozens of cases in both state and federal courts. Marsh focuses his practice in the areas of products liability and complex, large exposure matters, and he frequently lectures on these topics. He has been named by peers as a Georgia Super Lawyer for more than a decade.
In addition to his roles within the State Bar of Georgia, Marsh is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the International Association of Defense Counsel and the Products Liability Advisory Counsel.
Marsh received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law.
