Partner Lane Finch Earns Honor, Reappointed to Prestigious Committee
Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers, LLP, is pleased to announce that Birmingham-based partner F. Lane Finch, Jr. has been named as an Elite Lawyer of the South by American Lawyer Media (ALM) and Martindale-Hubbell. In addition, Finch has been reappointed as vice chair of the Defense Research Institute (DRI) Insurance Law Committee. Finch, who opened Swift Currie’s Birmingham office in October 2015, advises clients on insurance coverage and bad faith claims and defends first-party and third-party insurance-related claims involving everything from arson and fraud and property claims to specialty coverages such as professional liability, construction claims and excess coverage.
ALM employed the prestigious Martindale-Hubbell ratings to determine its criteria for this honor. This represents the first time The National Law Journal has published this list, which comes in conjunction with the publication’s transition from a weekly newspaper to a monthly magazine.
Over the years, Finch also has performed a number of roles for DRI. This will be his second year serving as vice chair of DRI’s Insurance Law Committee (ILC), which is one of the organization’s largest committees. It has more than 2,700 members and helps promote and educate insurance professionals around the country. Finch also is a frequent speaker at DRI conferences.

Finch received his undergraduate degree from California Polytechnic State University and his law degree from Hastings College of the Law, University of California.
