DRI Appoints Swift Currie's Lane Finch to Insurance Roundtable Steering Committee
Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers LLP, is pleased to announce that Birmingham-based partner F. Lane Finch Jr. was recently appointed to the Insurance Roundtable Steering Committee by the Defense Research Institute (DRI). Finch has been an active member of DRI, and currently serves as vice chair of the DRI’s Insurance Law Committee. DRI is the leading organization of more than 22,000 civil defense attorneys and in-house counsel. Finch has handled litigation and insurance coverage claims for 30 years, including litigation and coverage involving $500 million or more.
On the Insurance Roundtable Steering Committee, Finch will help address issues that insurers and their counsel face by providing an open forum to discuss legal and ethical issues. This will include discussing best practices and fostering greater growth and understanding in the industry-counsel relationship.

Throughout his legal career, Finch has advised on insurance coverage, defended bad faith claims and litigated first-party and third-party insurance claims in Alabama and California. He has authored numerous articles on insurance coverage and bad faith and has spoken at national DRI and American Bar Association conferences on those and related subjects.
Finch received his undergraduate degree from California Polytechnic State University and his law degree from Hastings College of the Law, University of California.
