Swift Currie has announced Trey Dowdey’s selection to take command of the U.S. Army Reserve’s 10th Legal Operations Detachment, which falls under the U.S. Army Reserve Legal Command out of Gaithersburg, Maryland.

“Trey’s commitment to service on behalf of his country, as well as his clients and community, is an inspiration to those of us who have the opportunity to work with him,” said Terry O. Brantley, managing partner at Swift Currie. “His passionate and effective leadership benefit his clients and colleagues on a daily basis, and we are certain the 10th Legal Operations Detachment will likewise prosper thanks to his dedicated work.”

Dowdey will take on the role on June 22 as one of only 23 Legal Operations Detachment commanders nationwide. He will also be promoted to the rank of colonel in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corp. Dowdey has spent more than 20 years serving his country, and was on active duty from 1998-2002 and mobilized on active duty from 2007-2008.

At Swift Currie, his practice primarily concentrates on workers’ compensation matters and the defense of employers against retaliatory discharge and co-employee liability claims. He also handles automobile and premises liability defense litigation.
