Swift Currie Partners with Action Ministries to 'Feed the Hungry'

05.28.2019

Swift Currie hosted its annual client service event on Saturday, May 18, in partnership with Action Ministries, a nonprofit that furnishes an extensive network of community partners and volunteers with the tools and expertise to lead fellow Georgians out of poverty.

The group of 96 attorneys, clients and family members mobilized for a morning of community service, packing 250 Feed the Hungry food boxes and 4,000 Smart Lunch, Smart Kid (SLSK) snack packs in about an hour, which equates to 10,250 meals. The food goes toward feeding 250 families and closes the meal gap for 500 kids in DeKalb county for the first two weeks of Action Ministries’ 14-county SLSK program. SLSK is a crucial initiative providing nutritious meals for the nearly one million children across Georgia who lose access to free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch during the summer and school breaks.

Additionally, the group wrote inspirational notes for the children’s snack bags, sorted 800 hygiene kits and re-bagged 600 snacks.

Swift Currie thanks all of our clients and family members who donated their time and efforts to serve their neighbors and Action Ministries for their continued dedication to breaking the cycle of poverty.
