WEBINAR: Getting Into the Weeds of Medical Marijuana and Its Impact on Workers' Compensation Claims

Webinar
08.21.2019

Attorneys Richard Phillips and Joanna Hair will host "Getting Into the Weeds of Medical Marijuana and Its Impact on Workers' Compensation Claims" on Aug. 21 from 1-2 p.m. ET.

Recently, there have been many legislative changes in Georgia and nationwide regarding decriminalization and use of medical marijuana. In addition, many doctors and patients are turning to medical marijuana to alleviate symptoms commonly found in workers’ compensation claims. During this webinar, Phillips and Hair will guide attendees in understanding the definition of medical marijuana, the legal status on a federal and state level, and the impact on workers’ compensation claims in these ever-changing times.

For those affected by these  changes, implementing policies on the front end can help  mitigate confusion and exposure down the road with regard to medical marijuana as treatment for workers’ compensation claims and with regard to an intoxication defense.

The webinar will offer one general hour of continuing education credit for attendees registered with the Georgia Department of Insurance.
