WEBINAR: Quarantine Quandaries: Tips for Navigating COVID-19 and Workers’ Compensation

Webinar
08.25.2020

Attorneys Rusty Watts and Katherine Jensen will host the webinar, "Quarantine Quandaries: Tips for Navigating COVID-19 and Workers' Compensation Claims," on Aug. 25 from 1-2 p.m. Eastern.

As with any workers’ compensation claim, the employee must prove a causal connection between contracting the coronavirus and their employment in order to receive workers’ compensation benefits. While some essential workers are at higher risk of infection, the burden of proof the State Board will apply here is not yet clear.

This webinar will address factors to consider in deciding whether an employee’s coronavirus infection is work related in accordance with Georgia Board Rules and statutes. Watts and Jensen will also discuss how other states and the federal government have amended their rules to deal with the pandemic.

The webinar will offer one general hour of continuing education credit (pending approval) for attendees registered with the Georgia Department of Insurance.

Instructions to join webinar will be emailed to registrants closer to the date of the program.
