Crystal McElrath Speaking at Nonprofit Risk Management Center 2019 Risk Summit

Lansdowne Resort and Spa
10.21.2019

Senior attorney Crystal McElrath will explore the impact of marijuana use on nonprofit workplaces and offer tips and strategies to navigate through the haze during her presentation "Cannabis in the Workplace: Highs and Lows" at the Nonprofit Risk Management (NRMC) 2019 Risk Summit on Oct. 21, 2019.

If you’ve been worried about ‘weed’ in the workplace, you’re not alone. Statutes permitting medical and recreational cannabis use are sweeping the country, despite federal law that bans the cultivation, sale and use of cannabis.

Attend this workshop to learn what employers need to know about the legalization of marijuana, important considerations when dealing with recreational versus medical marijuana usage and insights on practical policies and best practices for drug testing and responding to addiction. This session will incorporate group discussion on nonprofit risk topics like insurance and federal grants as they relate to drug-free workplaces.

NRMC is a nonprofit organization providing a wide range of risk education and risk management services to nonprofits, associations and foundations in the U.S. and internationally.

The 2019 Risk Summit will be held from Oct. 21-22 at the Lansdowne Resort and Spa in Leesburg, Virginia.
