WEBINAR – Mission Impossible: Proving Willful Misconduct in Georgia WC Cases

Webinar
05.06.2025

Attorneys Katherine Jensen and Caley Pitts will host the webinar "Mission Impossible: Proving Willful Misconduct in Georgia WC Cases" on May 6, 2025, from 1-2 p.m. Eastern.

Under Georgia workers’ compensation law, an injury occurring at work is not compensable if it is caused by an employee’s willful misconduct, which includes horseplay, criminal acts, intoxication and intentional or self-harm. However, establishing a viable willful misconduct defense is complex and depends on a number of factors that vary with each type of willful misconduct defense. This webinar will explore various types of willful misconduct defenses and the legal challenges involved in successfully raising this defense in workers’ compensation claims.

The webinar will offer one hour of continuing education credit for attendees registered with the Georgia Department of Insurance (pending approval).
