WEBINAR – Kratom: The Biggest Drug You've Never Heard Of

Webinar
03.26.2024 | 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm EST

Attorneys Cat Gavrilidis and Sophie Levine will host the webinar "Kratom: The Biggest Drug You've Never Heard Of" on March 26, 2024, from 1-2 p.m. Eastern.

If you stop by any gas station or convenience store around Georgia, you are likely to see a sign advertising kratom. Kratom is not sold in big-box stores, but it is a billion-dollar industry in the United States. This webinar will introduce attendees to kratom, a plant-based drug that is becoming increasingly popular and accessible. Specifically, this webinar will discuss what kratom is, kratom use and overdose statistics, current regulations and laws regarding kratom, recent case law and ethics for how to approach kratom-related lawsuits. The attorneys will discuss how kratom is involved in a new wave of products liability cases, how plaintiffs and their counsel are approaching litigation and how to defend these novel lawsuits.

The webinar will offer one ethics continuing education credit for attendees registered with the Georgia Department of Insurance.
