Overview
Kelly S. Johnson is Of Counsel at Swift Currie, where she focuses her practice on insurance coverage, bad faith litigation, professional liability and complex commercial litigation. With more than 25 years of experience, Kelly advises insurers and businesses on high-exposure claims, emerging risks and coverage disputes when the stakes are highest.
Kelly brings a uniquely broad perspective to her work, having practiced on both the defense and plaintiff sides in high-dollar, multi-party litigation, as well as in-house with insurance carriers. Her experience includes managing complex claims portfolios, leading claims teams, drafting policy language and advising insurers on claims best practices, regulatory considerations and risk mitigation strategies.
As coverage counsel, Kelly serves as a strategic partner to her clients, helping them identify jurisdictional and exposure risks early, evaluate coverage issues and develop practical strategies for resolution. She is particularly adept at translating technical policy language and evolving risk profiles, such as cyber, management liability and technology-related exposures, into clear, actionable guidance for insurers and claims professionals.
Kelly earned her J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Emory University.
