Biography

Joe Angersola defends clients in a variety of civil matters, with an emphasis on product liability, personal injury and commercial litigation. His experience representing corporations, local businesses and individuals varies from complex, large exposure cases to contract disputes. In addition to representing clients in Georgia, Mr. Angersola has litigated cases in jurisdictions, pro hac vice, including Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Tennessee.

Mr. Angersola is active in various professional organizations along with his children’s youth activities. He holds an AV Preeminent® Rating from Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review and was named a Martindale-Hubbell Top Rated Lawyer in 2016. Additionally, he has been named a Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Star since 2016.

Prior to joining Swift Currie in 2010, he spent five years with a litigation firm in Chicago, Illinois. He received his law degree from Syracuse University College of Law and his undergraduate degree from Loyola University of Chicago, where he attended on a merit-based scholarship.

Representative Work

  • Defend electrical manufacturer in product liability cases alleging defects in electrical equipment and components, including switch-gear, circuit breakers, surge arrestors and disconnect boxes.
  • Brought suit on behalf of a worldwide beverage manufacturer against a contractor for negligence and breach of contract arising out of significant fire damage to a production facility.
  • Defend a university in multiple lawsuits arising out of a tragic 2007 bus accident on Interstate 75 in Atlanta. Thirty-five plaintiffs brought claims for wrongful death, bodily injury and emotional distress. Issues included highway design, warnings and human factors.
  • Defend individuals in personal injury lawsuits involving recreational boats and jet skis.
  • Defend non-profit organization in premises liability wrongful death action.
  • Defend automated-door manufacturer in suit alleging improper maintenance.
  • Defend forklift manufacturer in suit alleging improper service.
  • Defend tool manufacturer in product liability suit alleging catastrophic head injury.
  • Defend boat manufacturer and dealer in product liability suit alleging defect in stair design.
  • Defend manufacturer in product liability suit alleging defect in hydraulic hose design.
  • Defend manufacturers (automotive, construction, and marine) and dealers (marine) in lawsuits alleging product liability, breach of warranty, breach of contract, breach of implied warranties and/or fraud.
