Swift Currie Participates in Diversity Programs with the State Bar of Georgia Diversity Program

Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers, LLP, as a Steering Committee Member of the State Bar of Georgia Diversity Program (GDP), is pleased to announce its partnership in and support of two upcoming worthy events. The 2018 Business Development Symposium is to be held on April 19, 2018, at the State Bar of Georgia from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and is co-sponsored by the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (GABWA), the Georgia Hispanic Bar Association, and Gate City Bar Association. Additionally, Swift Currie again will serve as one of the sponsoring firms for the State Bar of Georgia Diversity Program’s High School Pipeline Program, which is held in partnership with the Leadership Institute for Women of Color Attorneys and Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. The program runs from May 29 through June 8.

Lane Finch, Jr., was recently appointed as chair of the newly formed Staff Counsel Membership Initiative by the Defense Research Institute (DRI) and Birmingham-based associate Brian C. Richardson was appointed as second vice chair for the Construction Substantive Law Group (SLG) of DRI’s Insurance Law Committee. DRI is the leading organization of more than 22,000 civil defense attorneys and in-house counsel.

Swift Currie Bolsters Litigation Groups with Addition of Three Lateral Partners

Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers LLP is pleased to announce the hiring of three lateral partners, all of whom once worked together at the law firm of Hicks, Casey & Foster PC: William T. Casey Jr., Erica Morton and Richie Foster, who most recently worked at Carlock, Copeland & Stair LLP. The new partners will bolster Swift Currie’s practices in trucking, retail and liability insurance litigation. Swift Currie and the new partners have shared clients for years – sometimes in different practice areas – making for an ideal union. Casey, Morton and Foster are bringing with them to Swift Currie six additional attorneys with whom they have worked in the past. To finish out its hiring to start 2018, Swift Currie also has hired eight other attorneys to support a number of practice groups, bringing its total number of first quarter hires to 17.

15 Swift Currie Attorneys Named Among Georgia Super Lawyers for 2018

Only five percent of lawyers in the state are named as Super Lawyers, and no more than two-and-a-half percent are honored as Rising Stars, which include attorneys who are 40 years old or younger and/or have been practicing for 10 years or less. Swift Currie's Rosetti Named a Fellow of the College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers
