Attorneys Ann McElroy and Jonathan Wilson will present "Dot Your I's, Cross Your T's and File Your Forms: The Crucial Importance of Proper and Timely Filing of Board Forms" on Dec. 13, 2018, from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.

Georgia workers’ compensation law is extremely form driven. Consequently, there are significant Board forms that must be properly completed and timely filed when administering and defending a Georgia workers’ compensation claim. By the same token, there are some potentially serious ramifications for any improperly composed or untimely filed forms, along with a complete failure to file requisite Forms. These include WC-1/Employer’s First Report of Injury (which has some upcoming changes starting Jan. 1, 2019), WC-2/Notice of Payment or Suspension of Benefits, WC-3/Notice to Controvert, WC-104/Notice to Employee of Medical Release to Return to Work with Restrictions or Limitations and WC-240/Notice to Employee of Offer of Suitable Employment. However, with the proper understanding of, planning for and utilization of these forms, a claim can be proactively handled.

During this webinar, McElroy and Wilson will go over the “broad strokes” and finer points of the aforementioned form filing, along with strategies to work with your friendly Swift Currie attorneys to ensure proper compliance with filing requirements.

This webinar will offer one general hour of continuing education (pending approval) for attendees registered with the GA Department of Insurance.
