Attorneys Crystal McElrath, Lisa Wade and Mark Goodman will speak on panels at the 2018 State Board of Workers' Compensation Annual Education Conference.

McElrath is a panelist on the August 27 legal session titled, "The Curious Case of Travor McManley," at 3:30 p.m. During this session, the audience, along with legal and human resource professionals, screens and critiques the way an employer handles a workers' compensation case.

Wade, alongside additional panelists, will speak during the insurance/self-insurance claims session on August 28 at 1:30 p.m. The session will focus on the first 21 days of a claim and possible curve balls that could be thrown into the equation. The panel will walk attendees through three different loss scenarios that may impact the first 21 days and offer helpful tools and insight to ensure the best outcome for all parties.

Goodman will moderate the ethics session titled, "The Lying King," on August 29 at 9:00 a.m.This panel of “seasoned” participants in the workers’ compensation system will focus upon return to work issues and the light duty accommodation games employers, employees and attorneys play. Scenarios discussed will include the so-called “drive-by" failed efforts to return to work, as well as make-believe, dead-end light duty jobs and the ethical issues presented by these tactics.

The full conference will take place from August 27 to 29 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta Hotel.
