We at Swift Currie strive to create and maintain a diverse, welcoming workplace and build a team of attorneys that mirrors the diversity of our communities and the world at large. This allows us to not only maintain an inclusive organizational culture, nurture unique talents and draw from a vast pool of knowledge and experiences, but also to understand the various interests and challenges of our clientele and best serve their interests.
Swift Currie values and respects the differences among its personnel and is committed to diversity and inclusion through the recruitment, retention, professional development and advancement of educated and capable attorneys and staff regardless of race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, ability status or veteran status. Equity, fairness and social justice are our guiding values.
Our commitment to diversity isn’t just talk — we take action. Swift Currie has developed and implemented several initiatives in the areas of recruitment, retention, professional development and advancement. We engage in active recruitment by attending minority job fairs, sponsoring minority bar association events, soliciting applicants from a diverse array of law schools, and participating in “pipeline initiatives” designed to attract young people to the legal profession.
We also work hard to retain qualified attorneys through mentoring programs, conference attendance and the use of Swift Currie University, an in-house educational program designed to hone skills and boost knowledge – all in a convenient setting.
Swift Currie has created a Diversity Committee to keep tabs on and evaluate our progress and commitment. Members of this committee — which meets regularly and reports directly to the firm’s Executive Committee — participate in hiring decisions to ensure we are promoting inclusion.
