William “Will” A. Richardson is an attorney practicing in Swift Currie’s coverage and commercial litigation section. Will primarily represents insurance carriers in claims related to insurance coverage and automobile and trucking litigation. Over the span of his career, he has had more than 70 jury trials, nearly 100 bench trials, several dozen motion hearings and represented clients in front of numerous judges throughout the state of Georgia.

Well versed in the legal arena, Will has experience as a criminal defense attorney, prosecutor and in-house counsel for a well-known national insurer. As in-house counsel, he gained a unique perspective in learning the daily operations of an insurance company and forming lasting relationships with claims representatives. With knowledge of both the private and public sectors, Will extends a wide-ranging, distinct skill set to benefit his clients.

Understanding that most clients’ biggest fear is the unknown, Will works closely with his clients by helping them know what to expect based on his prior experience in dealing with similar cases. He guides them in making informed decisions by addressing the pros and cons of each possible outcome and eases their concerns by keeping an open line of communication.

Will was named attorney of the year at DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s Office in 2015. In October 2019, he graduated from the Building Trial Skills 40-Hour Program offered by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.

Will earned his B.S. in finance from the University of Alabama and his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law.
