Thomas “Tom” B. Ward has more than 13 years of experience dedicating his practice to matters related to construction claims, premises liability and personal injury, surety law and insurance coverage. He handles cases related to construction defects, real and personal property damages and extracontractual and bad faith claims. In addition, he has experience with a variety of environmental law cases including mold and lead cases, water runoff litigation, and Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) liability claims.
Tom’s clients include insurance companies, home builders, construction companies, commercial contractors, and fire sprinkler and alarm companies. In addition, he has experience working with adventure sports companies and has defended personal injury cases for trampoline and wakeboarding parks and zipline companies.
During his time as an attorney, Tom has successfully resolved hundreds of matters, including completing jury trials, arbitrations and bench trials in federal, magistrate and probate courts. He has also provided advice to clients about issues related to contract disputes, coverage matters, and bond and surety claims.
Tom understands the challenges his clients face because he has had first-hand experiences with them. As someone who worked in the construction industry and owned a contracting business, he has a unique perspective that helps him find creative solutions to his clients’ problems and look at the big picture when devising a case strategy. He has extensive experience with building and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and environmental laws. Tom also has experience working with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the state insurance commissioner’s office.
