Maya S. Marshall is a Swift Currie attorney defending employers and insurers against workers’ compensation claims throughout Georgia. In 2020, Maya started her legal career with the firm as a Swift Currie summer associate.
With authenticity and intentionality, Maya prioritizes building strong relationships with her clients to develop a keen understanding of their issues and to produce results that achieve their underlying goals. Maya takes a collaborative and proactive approach to resolving claims and strives to establish long-lasting relationships with her clients.
Maya earned her J.D. from University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law, where she served as a member of the Black Law Student Association and the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Student Advisory Board. During this time, she also won the Best Appellate Brief Award and was the Class of 2021 recipient of the Rosenberg College of Law Faculty Cup Award. Prior to receiving her J.D., Maya obtained her B.S. from Boston University, where she was a NCAA Division I student-athlete on the women’s track and field team.

Maya has a heart for service. In the fall of 2020, Maya established Encourage U, Inc., an educational nonprofit that supports and equips underprivileged high school students with the knowledge and resources to make informed decisions about their postsecondary educational pursuits.
