Kayla D. Washington is an associate in Swift Currie’s Birmingham office representing companies in matters related to insurance coverage, commercial litigation and workers’ compensation.
While earning her J.D. at the University of Alabama School of Law, Kayla developed her skills conducting legal research and preparing motions, discovery materials, correspondence and memoranda as an intern for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and a national healthcare services provider, as well as a law clerk for two Birmingham-based personal injury firms.
Prior to practicing law, Kayla provided medical care as a registered nurse. With her background, Kayla is able to use a combination of her legal acumen and health care knowledge to examine issues from a unique perspective.
Kayla fosters a positive environment for her clients by prioritizing honesty and respect when resolving issues.

In addition to being an avid reader, Kayla enjoys traveling and spent six weeks studying comparative law at the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia during the summer of 2016. She is also a member of Sixth Avenue Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama.
