Overview

Jordan T. Brown is an associate attorney in Swift Currie’s Atlanta office. He focuses his practice on defending employers and insurers against workers’ compensation claims throughout Georgia.

Prior to joining Swift Currie, Jordan worked for a defense firm in the Metro-Atlanta area that specialized in workers’ compensation defense. During his tenure at Mercer University School of Law, Jordan interned with a State Prosecutor’s Office and the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Georgia. Through these experiences, Jordan developed his holistic approach to viewing a case and placing himself in the position of Opposing Counsel to predict how the case would progress.

Jordan leverages his background in criminal prosecution in his workers’ compensation defense practice. Jordan reviews his cases from the perspectives of both the employee and the employer/insurer. Through this perspective, he formulates a strategic defensive plan that considers the employee's potential actions and the responsive steps his clients should take.

Jordan believes that being a "swift" attorney means being someone who treats each case independently from any other cases and ensures each case receives a unique and specific approach that limits the amount of exposure to the client. A Swift attorney is proactive and provides potential scenarios that may arise given the posture of the claim or newly obtained evidence to keep the client informed throughout the claim’s duration. Lastly, a Swift Attorney can understand each client’s unique goals and is versed in communicating creative recommendations that take those goals into account.

Jordan earned his J.D. from the Mercer University School of Law, where he graduated in the top 20% of his class and was a member of the Mercer Law Review. He also received his Certificate in Advance Legal Writing, Research and Drafting from Mercer University School of Law. He received his B.S. in Criminal Justice from Georgia State University.
