Erik L. Johnson is an attorney in Swift Currie’s coverage and commercial litigation section, focusing on first-party property and third-party liability claims. He works closely with national insurance carriers to represent and defend their interests, as well as the interests of their insureds.
Prior to joining the firm, Erik practiced in Maryland at two insurance defense firms, where he defended individuals and corporations in complex federal and civil matters related to transportation, construction, employment, intentional torts, premises liability, products liability, casualty and insurance coverage.
Recognizing his clients’ concerns regarding potential exposure and the value of their case, Erik helps them understand the “big picture” view of the law and associated facts and evaluates a potential estimate of the damages. With an intricate knowledge of his clients’ business needs, Erik utilizes his knack for out-of-the-box thinking to creatively solve the issues at hand.
Erik earned his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law and his B.A. in economics from the University of Maryland.
