Donovan D. Potter, Sr., practices in the general civil litigation section and is most active in matters of automobile litigation, catastrophic injury and wrongful death, governmental liability and premises and product liability. He represents large, multinational insurers, law firms, manufacturers and other large corporations. He also provides legal services to small business clients, assisting with contractual relationships and partnership terminations.
A trustworthy communicator, his practice benefits from the unique perspective of his former work as an associate city attorney with the city of Atlanta. Working with the mayor and all city departments served to refine Donovan’s knowledge of the intersections of municipal proceedings and applicability of state and federal laws, litigation and administrative law hearings.
Donovan has successfully defended clients in bench trials in magistrate court and has argued dispositive motions in state and superior courts. He has counseled clients through litigation involving significant injuries such as severe traumatic brain injuries, sexual assaults and wrongful death.

Serving in his former role as an associate city attorney for the city of Atlanta’s in-house legal department, Donovan’s counsel saved the city more than $10 million dollars in claims.
