Overview
Cydney Barnes is an associate attorney in Swift Currie’s Atlanta office. She focuses her practice on commercial litigation and insurance coverage.
Prior to joining Swift Currie, Cydney worked in insurance defense in Alabama before moving to Georgia to become a prosecutor. She made the return to insurance defense as she felt the practice aligned better with her professional strengths and interests.
In addition to her previous legal experience, Cydney was an AmeriCorps Service Member in Fannin County, Georgia, where she taught women in their homes to help them towards receiving their GEDs. Her time with AmeriCorps is one of her proudest accomplishments, having once won the Service Member of the Year Award. She also previously worked as a remote English teacher for South Koreans.
Cydney earned her J.D. from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, where she was a recipient of a full Dean’s Scholarship, served as the National Negotiation Team director and was a member of the Cumberland Law Review. She received her B.A. from Dalton State College.
