Biography
Teesha T. McCrae joined Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers, LLP, as an associate in 2010. Ms. McCrae specializes in defending employers and insurers in a wide range of workers’ compensation claims. Before joining Swift Currie, Ms. McCrae practiced in the area of workers’ compensation for another Atlanta defense firm. Beyond the traditional workers’ compensation claim, her experience includes defending employers and insurers in occupational disease, chemical exposure, repetitive use injury, subrogation and death claims. Ms. McCrae has also advocated for employers and insurers before the Georgia Court of Appeals. She drafted a Brief of Amicus Curiae on behalf of the Georgia Self Insurers Association to protect the intoxication defense in workers’ compensation claims.
Ms. McCrae graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology in 2003. While at the University of Florida, Ms. McCrae was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and received the Four Year Scholar award. She went on to attend the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she was an active member of the Trial Team. Ms. McCrae won Best Team and Best Advocate at the school's intramural mock trial competition. She later won First Place at the St. John's University National Civil Rights Mock Trial Competition. She graduated cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2006.
Ms. McCrae was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2006. She is admitted to practice in all levels of Georgia’s courts, including the Supreme Court of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, all Georgia trial courts and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Aside from her professional and scholastic accolades, Teesha is committed to serving her community. She volunteers with Kids’ Chance of Georgia to raise money for children of injured workers. She also volunteers with the Atlanta Community Food Bank, helping the fight against hunger in Metro Atlanta and North Georgia.
