Biography
John W. Campbell practices liability and commercial litigation, with specialization in the areas of products liability, professional liability and business tort litigation. He currently serves as statewide or regional litigation counsel for several Fortune 500 companies, including a domestic automobile manufacturer, a multi-national manufacturer of elevators and escalators, a national pharmacy retailer and several casualty insurance companies. Mr. Campbell is lead trial counsel for these and other clients in cases pending throughout Georgia, as well as in various state and federal jurisdictions in Tennessee, Alabama and the Carolinas.
In addition to his trial work, Mr. Campbell has extensive training and experience in various forms of ADR, including mediation and arbitration. He is a frequent speaker at continuing education and client seminars, presenting on a wide variety of litigation issues. He is a member of the Products Liability and the Drug and Medical Device sections of the Defense Research Institute (DRI), and the Products Liability section of the State Bar of Georgia.
Mr. Campbell joined Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers in 1990. He was elected to partnership in 1996. He graduated from Emory College of Emory University in 1985, and received his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1988. In 1986, Mr. Campbell clerked for the Honorable Robert H. Hall of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

In 2007, Mr. Campbell received the Strategy Award, given annually by one of his product manufacturing clients to the outside counsel who demonstrates initiative and creativity with respect to litigation strategy. He is also AV® Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
